Interview with M.I.A.

M.I.A. is nominated for Grammy and Oscar this year and she is also due to have her baby on the Oscar night, what a coincidence ;) I think M.I.A. is one of the rare talents, but I admire the fact that although she had a tough time when she was a child, she fled to England as a refugee from Sri Lanka, she became so successful representing Tamil people in the world, when genocide continues to go on in Sri Lanka and situation's getting worse there. Thank God that when there was a time to save her life she had a chance to go to England and survive. It's hard though.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION: THE SECRET OF SUCCESS

Here is a great movie that shares a secret we all want to know: the key to success, it is in visualizing what you want and seeing it being attracted to you as if you were a magnet. In simple words you get what you want, but I have to add that you should never forget about harmony and connection with the world around you and taking into account what other people want. You can't make somebody love you, if he/she don't want it, but wants something else. But you can visualize and achieve great results at work, get more clients, make more money through your business. And let's remember, everybody has their own historical role, so you can't be Napoleon if you are actually more talented in composing and supposed to make it like Beethoven :) You gotta take into accounts your talents. A few examples from my personal experience: before I launched my career as an artist, I attended Bob Marley festival in Moscow and I imagined how I would perform there the following year, and guess what - the following year, I was there on stage!

This is the first 20 min of the movie, you can get the full version here: http://www.thesecret.tv

How about moving to live on Mars in the future? Possible signs of life have already been discovered there!

NASA announced that methane gas has been discovered on Mars. The way in which the methane gas is being released has many scientists believing that it could be a sign of some type of biological activity. It means, that life may either be forming or has already formed on Mars. Most of methane on Earth is caused by living organisms, which make it as a by-product of breaking down food.

You can watch the streaming video here

Now scientists have said they need to send a mission to Mars with a probe that is capable of drilling down below the frozen Martian surface, to where water - and life - might exist.

Nasa's Mars Science Laboratory is due to start carrying out further tests on the planet in 2011.

If Mars has good enough conditions for life, it could be one of the possible destinations where we could relocate in case the Earth gets completely destroyed by human beings ... Just need to get my space ship ready for that, in fact I started planning that when I was a child ...

Man or Rabbit?

Chapter 12 in Part I of
God in the Dock:
Essays on Theology and Ethics
by C.S. Lewis
Man or Rabbit?

“Can’t you lead a good life without believing in Christianity?” This is the question on which I have been asked to write, and straight away, before I begin trying to answer it, I have a comment to make. The question sounds as if it were asked by a person who said to himself, “I don’t care whether Christianity is in fact true or not. I’m not interested in finding out whether the real universe is more what like the Christians say than what the Materialists say. All I’m interested in is leading a good life. I’m going to choose beliefs not because I think them true but because I find them helpful.” Now frankly, I find it hard to sympathise with this state of mind. One of the things that distinguishes man from the other animals is that he wants to know things, wants to find out what reality is like, simply for the sake of knowing. When that desire is completely quenched in anyone, I think he has become something less than human. As a matter of fact, I don’t believe any of you have really lost that desire. More probably, foolish preachers, by always telling you how much Christianity will help you and how good it is for society, have actually led you to forget that Christianity is not a patent medicine. Christianity claims to give an account of facts—to tell you what the real universe is like. Its account of the universe may be true, or it may not, and once the question is really before you, then your natural inquisitiveness must make you want to know the answer. If Christianity is untrue, then no honest man will want to believe it, however helpful it might be: if it is true, every honest man will want to believe it, even if it gives him no help at all.

I'VE LEARNED

SO TRUE ...

I have learned (author unknown)

I’ve learned that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them;
I’ve learned that no matter how much I care, some people just don’t care back;
I’ve learned that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.
I’ve learned that it’s not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts;
I’ve learned that you can get by on charm, for about fifteen minutes. After that, you’d better know something;
I’ve learned that you shouldn’t compare yourself to the best others can do.
I’ve learned that you can do something in an instant that will give you heartache for life.
I’ve learned that it’s taking me a long time to become the person that I want to be.
I’ve learned that you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may b the last time you see them.
I’ve learned that you can keep going long after you can’t.
I’ve learned that we are responsible for all we do, no matter how we feel.
I’ve learned that either you control your attitude or it controls you.
I’ve learned that no matter how hot and steamy a relationship is at first, the passion fades and there had better be something else to take it’s place.
I’ve learned that heroes are the people who do what has to be done when it needs to be done, regardless of the consequences.
I’ve learned that money is a lousy way of keeping score.
I’ve learned that my best friend and I can do anything or nothing and have the best time.
I’ve learned that sometimes the people you expect to kick you when you’re downhill are the ones to help you get back up.
I’ve learned that sometimes when I’m angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn’t give me the right to be cruel.
I’ve learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.
I’ve learned that just because someone doesn’t love you the way you want them to doesn’t mean that they don’t love you with all they have.
I’ve learned that maturity had more to do with what types of experiences you’ve had and what you’ve learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you’ve celebrated.
I’ve learned that your family won’t always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren’t related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren’t biological.
I’ve learned that no matter how good a friend is, they’re going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.
I’ve learned that it isn’t always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to forgive yourself.
I’ve learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken, the world doesn’t stop for your grief.
I’ve learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.
I’ve learned that just because two people argue, it doesn’t mean they don’t love each other. And just because they don’t argue, it doesn’t mean they do.
I’ve learned that we don’t have to change friends if we understand that friends change.
I’ve learned that you shouldn’t be so eager to find out a secret. It could change your life forever.
I’ve learned that two people can look at the exact same thing and see something totally different.
I’ve learned that no matter how you try to protect your children, they will eventually get hurt and you will get hurt in the process.
I’ve learned that your life can be changed in a matter of hours by people who don’t even know you.
I’ve learned that even when you think you have no more to give, when a friend cries out to you, you will find the strength to help.
I’ve learned that credentials on the wall do not make you a decent human being.
I’ve learned that the people you care about the most in life are taken from you too soon.
I’ve learned that it’s hard to determine where to draw the line between being nice and not hurting people’s feelings and standing up for what you believe.

DMX speaks from jail

One of my favorite artists of the times when I was at high school ... DMX speaks from jail. Good to see, he is back with God and not "riding with the d" anymore ... We used to jump around to "Party Up" back in the days. I gotta say, when I was locked up, I also found myself in a situation when I realized that my life and all circumstances are in the hands of God only and there was a purpose for me to be there for that time, I met a lot of people and spoke to them, and I believe I helped some of them or at least tried to. I'm really feeling X.

Barack Obama speaks on the USA economy:

Hard times coming. We just gotta remember that in the worst financial situation, even when one loses all the money he/she has, the main point is not to lose an ability to love, be compassionate and still be able to enjoy simple things of life, and what you can't buy with money like relationships with people close to you, self-esteem as a person's value is not in how much cash he/she earns but in personal qualities that especially those that makes him/her understand particular Mission, whether making global historical changes or being a local teacher, a doctor, a mother etc. and that's what separates human beings from lower animals, particularly ability to think, analyze and realize that troubles can teach us if we learn the lesson. We don't have to self-destruct even in the worst times. That means keeping it positive.

peace

First human may come from India

Now that I'm so far away from Moscow, where I was born, living in London and seeing all people and cultures mixed together, I am trying to identify myself and my roots. Now this theory about Aries invading India and bringing their achievements to "retrograde" India, as there are no scientific facts confirming that it really had happened. Nothing about any kind of invasion has been documented in ancient Indian literature including Vedas. It is more likely that the theory of the invasion was invented by colonists in the late XIX - beginning XX centuries, as this could give a good excuse for them bringing their "advanced" technology and civilized ways of living to India for "second" time in the history. However, there are scientific facts that show that civilization in India is much older and dates back to 8000 B.C. at least if not earlier , also the archeological researches show that mathematics and astrology were very advanced, and the facts documented in the oldest known text Rig-Veda, that date back to 4500 B.C. and there are facts suggesting that Egyptian civilization has adopted the mathematical and astronomic knowledge from India. The oldest gene found in the oldest human being is M1. It is suggested that men appeared on Earth some time around 70 000 B.C. Some people with that ancient gene M1 can still be found in Kerala, India.
This is one of the videos about origins of civilization of India:

Now here are recent studies suggesting that the origin of M1 gene is Asian, and it is more likely that first human beings appeared in India.

PubMedCentral article:

"The coalescence age of the African haplogroup M1 is younger than those for other M Asiatic clades. In contradiction to the hypothesis of an eastern Africa origin for modern human expansions out of Africa, the most ancestral M1 lineages have been found in Northwest Africa and in the Near East, instead of in East Africa. The M1 geographic distribution and the relative ages of its different subclades clearly correlate with those of haplogroup U6, for which an Eurasian ancestor has been demonstrated.

Conclusion
This study provides evidence that M1, or its ancestor, had an Asiatic origin. The earliest M1 expansion into Africa occurred in northwestern instead of eastern areas; this early spread reached the Iberian Peninsula even affecting the Basques. The majority of the M1a lineages found outside and inside Africa had a more recent eastern Africa origin. Both western and eastern M1 lineages participated in the Neolithic colonization of the Sahara. The striking parallelism between subclade ages and geographic distribution of M1 and its North African U6 counterpart strongly reinforces this scenario. Finally, a relevant fraction of M1a lineages present today in the European Continent and nearby islands possibly had a Jewish instead of the commonly proposed Arab/Berber maternal ascendance."

True love, passion does last a lifetime

True love and passion is hardly ever dented by ravages of age, says a new study based on brain scans.

Brain scans of couples who have been together for 20 years prove that they are really capable of loving each other with the same intensity and passion as they felt in their initial relationship, until their last breath.

These scans showed that a tenth of them showed a burst of pleasure-boosting dopamine while looking at the photos of their loved ones, the same chemical reaction that young couples exhibit in the first flush of lust.

It contradicts a previous study suggesting that passionate love peters out in 15 months, after going through a roller coaster ride, called 'limerence' in psychological parlance.

Stony Brook University (SBU) researchers who conducted the latest study said that when limerence matures, it permits couples to enjoy "intensive companionship and sexual liveliness".

Simply stated, they are able to sustain the same level of romance and passion decades later.

Researchers concentrated on factors like passion, romantic love and lust. They nicknamed such couples "swans" because swans, voles and grey foxes stay paired for a lifetime.

"The findings go against the traditional view of romance - that it drops off sharply in the first decade - but we are sure it's real," said Arthur Aron, SBU psychologist.

Billy and Michelle Jordon, one such pair of 'swans', who live in California, still amaze friends and acquaintances by holding hands all the time. "It comes very naturally," said Michelle, 59.

Uplifting news, I almost lost my hope to ever have an opportunity to experience something like this, especially now, when people come together for convenience (including financial) or just simply fearing to be alone or single in the eyes of friends, but the study shows that true love does exist and lasts forever. It's better to wait for whatever time needed for that right person, rather than keep getting involved in some lightweight relationships only to find out they were not true. One of the tests to see if that's the right person before anything happens is trying to ask yourself, could imagine this other person with you in less romantic situation, like war zone, or would actually feel good and "love to" cook him or her breakfast (even if you don't like to cook) or have kids may be? To me, there is no point in hanging out with a man for the sake of it, even if I don't get sex for years, I'd rather wait for that special person to share all kinds of good moments together. Sex is a form of expressing love not the goal on it's own. True love is when you want to start a family with the person meaning functioning as one, feeling his/her sorrows and happiness.

REAL MAN VS. FAKE MAN

A REAL MAN will say I love you and mean it
A fake man will say I like you, but only for the moment

A REAL MAN will open the door for you
A fake man may have you open the door for him

A REAL MAN will give his heart and soul to you
A fake man will give you his body and a one-night stand

A REAL MAN will be there when you need him the most
A fake man will be there when you need him the least

A REAL MAN will know when he has hurt your feelings and gone too far
A fake man keeps going until you tell him he needs to stop

A REAL MAN knows when his time is up
A fake man doesn't know when to give up

A REAL MAN doesn't mind being the protector
A fake man doesn't care as long as he's protected

A REAL MAN will hold you and dry your tears
A fake man will sit there watching you cry and say "man up"
