'Rise' by Jahna Sebastian (Produced by Jahna Sebastian)

‘Rise’ is my song from my album ‘Revelation Ships’. I play domra throughout with some improvisation and the intro is like a traditional orchestral piece with multiple domras playing at the same time. This is inspired by my walks in the woods and folk tales.

I made the cover with the photos taken at Venus TV 10th Anniversary. The celebration took place in 2015 at Radisson Blu in London and I am wearing outfits by Tehxeeb London and jewellery by Anisha Rawal. The show was organised by Soch Events. I also performed my songs at the show, which was broadcast live on SKY TV. Read the article 'Jahna Sebastian Is Bridging the East and the West through her music, fashion and creative ideas:

New Year 2025 with Nicole

Nicole and I have a tradition to celebrate New Year's Eve at home. It is a family holiday and I cook a lot of traditional food. It is a time associated with childhood on one hand, and new plans for the coming future, on another. It is one of my favorite holidays in the year.

2024 has been a productive year for me academically. I started learning Latin and Ancient Greek, took a course in Old English literature at the university of Oxford. As an poet and musician, I learned English through the sounds of music, songs, cultural references and what trully connects people. This is the same with studying ancient languages - by acquiring the knowledge of the way people spoke thousands of years ago, it is more vivid to understand their view of life and the atmosphere. Architectures, myths and legends speak loudly through the original language and symbols of the people.

Nicole was working hard to get through her GCSE exams, especially during spring 2024. It was a milestone in maturity and finding out about the personal aspects of discipline. I also got further introduced to the British school education system and how it differs from the way I learned. It will be an interesting topic to discuss - some observations on educational process in different countries from a persepctive of a creative, an artist. Nicole is studying Classical Civilisation, History and Socialogy for A Level. She also has moved schools for the first time, which is an adventure in itself as she has studied at the same school - Old Palace of John Whitgift - since reception, from the age of 4 till the age of 16. Now, in Years 12 and 13 she moved to a different school in South London, still in the same area.

I continued the journey of my third album 'Revelation Ships' with new promotion of my songs from this album. I travelled around England, filming places relevant to the songs and exploring. Hastings is one of my towns to visit, because of the layers of history and the fact, that it feels like you are almost abroad. Oxford is a treasure of discoveries when it comes to research at the library and the Ashmolean Museum.

I received certificates and accreditation from the university of Oxford for my course in Latin, Ancient Greek, Ancestral Voices The Oldest English Literature, Archaeology. I also took 'Magic in the Medieval Society' course. I visited an archaeological site for the first time, it was at Cookham.

2025 is coming to continue this creative journey.

Jahna Sebastian Speaks About the Healing Power of Music at Roots Restoration Event in Croydon, Part 1

Singer, songwriter, producer, musician, artist, creative and teacher Jahna Sebastian speaks about the healing power of music at Roots Restoration event at Project B in Croydon 2 February 2020 Root Restoration Host Nat: We've got Jahna Sebastian, who is a singer, songwriter, composer. Jahna Sebastian: - Thank you so much for having me here today. I was invited here by Susy Brit, who is my very good friend. It's a very special event. I can say, that music definitely heals people and it has been a very big part of my life. I've overcome a lot of things. Even when I was 15 years old, this was one of the first times, when I've encountered the true power of music and just generally creativity. My mom got cancer when I was 16 and it was very difficult for me to got through it. I was listening to Bob Marley's songs non-stop every day and then I realised that as well as a musician, it is very important to empower people and not just be there for mere entertainment. That's also good, but at the same time, it can truly heal souls and empower. I've seen a lot of people also going through situations. When we speak about mind over matter, I would say that, this literally has been something that I've discovered throughout my life, that it's very important to know that: When you are down, when you are at the rock bottom, the only way is up. I've written a song about that as well.

Purpose: Jahna Sebastian talks to rapper GV in Manhattan, New York, May 2018

Legends On The Map New York
GV: Realization to yourself, you don’t associate yourself to what you were just seeing, you know that there was so much more to you. It was almost like you connected yourself to the Universe from childhood by putting that in your mind.
Jahna Sebastian: Yes, also from the start I knew that I came here with a specific purpose and I have to fulfill it. Based on the Knowledge that I have and experiences that I’ve had, I have a certain vision of how this world can come together, so I know I came here for that, and that might be totally different to some of the current ways that the society is telling people to be. Actually, what I’m trying to tell people is how to change the society to make it better, how people can change within themselves. So I’m prepared to it in a completely different way and I never follow the bandwagon, I’m going the opposite way. If there is a bandwagon, I’m running away. But I know that it’s also a part of my purpose in this life to do that. It has always been that, I felt it with my heart pretty much my entire life. As the years go by, you know even more, exactly what you need to do. So even with my albums, they come completely directly from my heart and from what I feel.

Telling a story through music: Jahna Sebastian talks to rapper GV in Manhattan, New York

Legends On The Map New York
GV: In my videos I like to go a little in depth, I like to make them like little short films. I definitely love story lines in music itself. When you hear a beat by itself, it has a story line to it, when you add lyrics to it, you’re creating different stories, so when you put a visual behind it, it’s like a third parallel. So I take that very seriously, I make sure that my videos are gonna grab you, when you see them, they gonna make sense to you, as you’re watching in order, you’re gonna see how one leads to the other, and Imma continue that journey.
Jahna Sebastian: So you are a true storyteller.
GV: Definitely
Jahna Sebastian: This is what it’s about, it’s about telling stories. Not just dropping random tunes, just because that’s what’s out there, trying to get the clicks and the likes. It’s about telling the stories, one comes out of another, I definitely support that. That’s how I create as well, my second album comes out of the first album, it’s a continuous journey.
GV: Definitely, I’ve been able to hear some of your music. I definitely feel the spirit and the heart, the passion through it, and that’s what automatically drew me to your music and the energy itself.
Jahna Sebastian: Thank you

Inspiration and Longevity – Jahna Sebastian talks to rapper GV in Manhattan, New York, May 2018

Legends On The Map New York
Jahna Sebastian : ‘For generations to come, that you were actually creating something that meant a part of the description of the era of the time, so that people could look into that, like, ‘Yeah, I know about that, that’s a stamp of those times, that place, thank you for sharing it’. But if it’s just random stuff, then nobody can relate to it.
GV : Year, kids are not gonna care if you get a hundred likes
Jahna Sebastian : Yes, we’re here to create longevity, to create stories and take you on a journey, and as I said, it’s just like in my album: we are putting legends on the map. It’s not just thinking that not caring is the way, it’s about opening your eyes and realizing that the everyday people can put legends on the map, they are the legends they can be, that if you really put your mind to it and it exercise your potential, that’s what it’s about.
GV: As soon as you say that, I’m thinking it’s not been just about re-inspiring the artists nowadays, it’s re-inspiring the listeners too. I think, may be the listeners lost their inspiration or lost their sense of feeling like they put that artist up there. It’s more like, they’ve been given artists to choose from. We have to re-inspire the listeners, so we can re-inspire the artists.
Jahna Sebastian: Yes, we have to totally create that change because now it the time, we are at crossroads of history, actually right now with all this technology.

Global Superstar Jahna Sebastian releases her Explosive New Single ‘Calling’

Global Superstar Jahna Sebastian releases ‘Calling’, the second single off her critically acclaimed album Legends On The Map.  The London based singer/songwriter/ producer and engineer released the album this past spring. The album featured her first single ‘Looking for Love’ which was a smash hit. Legends On the Map was written, recorded, produced, performed and mixed by Ms. Sebastian at Multivizion Music. It’s a one woman project like her first album The Alchemist.  Ms. Sebastian stated when talking about the new album, “It continues the story as I unfold my vision for the world to bring people together through music. It’s a conceptual album and every song is like a point in the map in a tale. It means that it’s time for people to co create our history together and realize the potential and the legends are happening in real life as we speak.”‘

‘Calling’ was written, recorded, produced, arranged, performed, mixed by Ms. Sebastian at her studio Multivizion Music. When asked about her new single, Ms. Sebastian stated,  “The song has that light summer feel, like a soundtrack when you set on a journey. It is about finding your own calling, following your dream and realizing that now is that time to go for it, expand your potential, live the dream with a love of freedom. Sometimes it’s too easy to lose one self in stereotypes, but there is a way to have the courage to step up against any fake scenarios or versions of who you are that were a mere attempt by someone else to fit you into. It’s time to create a personal path. I wrote this song as it’s that time to live the truth. It’s love that you can feel inside, it’s that passion for the knowledge, it’s that beautiful idea that had to come to reality. Whatever it is, every moment is a part of a bigger story and when your heart is calling, the universe will answer. Every song on my album is like a place on the map, familiar to many in a personal way, ‘Calling’ is like that time you are ready at the station with new exciting horizons in sight. Speaking of the horizons and the hope for peace in this world. ”

Ms. Sebastian recently did a photo shoot with photographer Rob Wilson for Croydon Peace Festival exhibition at the Croydon Town Hall.  She wore a silver dress by Luv Look UK during the shoot. One of the pictures features her holding a dove in her hand as the symbol of world peace. It shows the different sides of Croydon while showcasing a peaceful mindset you can have while in the busy city. Its quite symbolic of our time. The photographs taken were works of art. The photographs showed how diverse the city is and showcased people in such an intimate and intricate way.

Ms. Sebastian stated, “In the world where so much is currently going on, this exhibition is very much on point at the right time as one of the ways for us to come together as humanity is to celebrate peace and love reminding ourselves what it’s like to find peace within yourself. It is also showing how we can build a better community. People were using #whatdoespeacelookliketoyou to contribute to the movement. ”

SKY TV channel London Live TV did a special feature about the exhibition with an interview with photographer Rob Wilson and Ms. Sebastian. During her interview Ms. Sebastian stated, ‘Croydon is a very multi cultural place, it constantly inspires me. There is a dove in my hand, and that is the ultimate symbol of peace. So you can see that you can have that feeling walking through the city, while having a bit of nature, while having these questions and answers, but at the same time looking at the dove and having that feeling, because it comes from inside. It’s in our hands, everyday people can make that change, we can create it, embrace every single moment, and it can all start from Croydon. Croydon is the place to be.’

Ms. Sebastian also did an instagram live video with the photographer where they spoke about peace, art and many ways that culture could help promote these ideas. She wore a long black gown by Luv Look UK, earrings and black bag by designer Johnny Loves Rosie.

Ms. Sebastian was booked and busy, she also found the time to collaborate with luxury fragrance brand Miller Harris and film a special episode about her conversation with fragrance expert Nick Gilbert. The conversation took place at an event the London shop was holding. The shop is inspired by the poets and featured art installations showcasing different fragrance with accompanying poetic pieces and sounds. They discussed the inspiration from the use of perfume in the ancient times and how it can be incorporated in the artful way into modern day life.
